What to do if you are arrested without a warrant
Under Bangladesh law, police can arrest without a warrant only in specific circumstances (CrPC Sec. 54). If you or a family member is detained: 1. Ask for the grounds of arrest in writing. 2. You must be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours. 3. Contact a lawyer immediately — you have the right to consult one. Stay calm and never sign blank papers.
